Single-Car Crash On I-95 In Spotsylvania Kills 1: Police
Virginia State Police investigators are looking for witnesses who may have more information about a fatal car crash in Spotsylvania County.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — A car crash on I-95 in Spotsylvania County killed one person, Virginia State Police officials said. Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the crash.
One person, 33-year-old Deanna Dudley of Fredericksburg, died in the crash. A passenger in the car, a 28-year-old man from Spotsylvania, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.
The crash occurred around 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday near the 119-mile-marker of I-95. Investigators said Dudley was driving a black 2007 Scion TC southbound before the crash.

Dudley was driving in the left lane when she started to hit the paved shoulder, crossed all three lanes of traffic, left the right side of the roadway, and hit a tree.
Dudley died at the scene, Virginia State Police said. She was not wearing a seatbelt, authorities said.

The passenger was taken to Mary Washington Hospital for treatment of his life-threatening injuries. He was also not wearing a seatbelt, according to investigators.
