A small private plane crashed Friday morning near Shannon Airport in Spotsylvania County, according to Virginia State Police.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA—A small private plane crashed Friday morning near Shannon Airport, according to Virginia State Police. The pilot was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, and no one else was on board.
Around 7:45 a.m., police went to the scene for a reported plane crash and found the aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified, and the investigation is ongoing.
