Spirit Halloween To Open At 2 Closed Retailers In Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Spirit Halloween, the seasonal retailer that pops up in vacant storefronts, is planning to open two Fredericksburg locations for the spooky season.

In August, Spirit Halloween will open in the former Party Depot at 570 Celebrate Virginia Parkway. The holiday retailer is also planning to open a second Fredericksburg location at the former Thats My Dress Salon #1900 at 137 Spotsylvania Mall Drive, although the opening date has not been a scheduled.

The Spirit Halloween stores offer a variety of costumes, decorations, animatronics and accessories, plus an expanding selection of themed home decor. Many Spirit Halloween stores are aimed to open on or around Sept. 1 through Nov. 1, but some open as early as August.

In Northern Virginia, Spirit Halloween is taking the place of several former Joann Fabric locations and other shuttered retailers. Spirit Halloween's website indicates it looks for three-month leases in shopping centers, strip malls, standalone stores, major downtown retailer locations and major malls with other national retailers nearby.

Here are all Spirit Halloween locations coming soon to Northern Virginia and surrounding areas for Halloween 2025:

• Former Buy Buy Baby, 6398 Springfield Plaza, Springfield, VA 22150 (opening in September)
• Former Lord and Taylor, 7968 Tysons Corner Center, lower level, McLean, VA 22102 (opening in August)
• Former Joann Fabrics, 12124 Fairfax Towne Center, Fairfax, VA 22033 (opening date to be announced)
• Former Big Lots store at 7733 Sudley Road, Manassas VA 20109 (opening date to be announced)
• Former Office Depot, 14405 Chantilly Crossing Lane, Chantilly, VA 20151 (opening in August)
• Former Party City, 47100 Community Plaza, #40/160, Sterling, VA 20164 (opening date to be announced)
• Former Joanns Fabric, 251 W Lee Hwy Ste 659, 130, Warrenton, VA 20186 (opening in August)
