Stafford Murder Victim Identified As Teen From Fairfax: Police

Police have identified the homicide victim found Saturday in Stafford as a 16-year-old boy from Fairfax who was killed in PG County: SCSO.

STAFFORD, VA—Police have identified the murder victim found Saturday near River Road as a 16-year-old boy from Fairfax who was killed in Prince George's County, Md., according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Tips received after police released a photo of the victim's left forearm tattoo helped lead to the identification.

His name was not released. Although the SCSO has yet to announce any arrests, the Free Lance-Star reports that at least two young men have been arrested in connection to the murder, and that a juvenile has been arrested, as well.

Shortly after 4:45 a.m. March 9, a deputy was driving down River Road when he spotted an unknown object between the road and the Rappahannock River. When he got out an investigated, he saw it was a body with signs of trauma. Police said Thursday the murder remains under investigation.
