Staffordboro Park & Ride Lot Information Fair, Ribbon Cutting Thursday
Commuters are invited to take part in a ribbon cutting and information fair for the new park & ride lot at Staffordboro Blvd. Thursday.

Users of the Staffordboro commuter lot are invited to stop by a commuter information fair Thursday, Oct. 30 to learn about the Interstate 95 express lanes scheduled to open in December.
The event takes place from 3:30 to 6 p.m. near the bus pickup and drop-off area. Commuters will have the opportunity to speak with transportation officials about the I-95 express lanes and E-ZPass, which will be available at the event. GWRideConnect, Virginia MegaProjects and VDOT’s Safety Service Patrol will also be represented at the event.
The $12.9 million project to expand the VDOT Park & Ride lot in Stafford County has added nearly 1,000 new parking spaces, doubling the commuter parking available in close proximity to I-95.

The project also includes a dedicated lane for HOV carpooling, a bus pickup and drop-off area, new sidewalk and turn lanes, and a roundabout that connects the lot to Doc Stone Road, Juggins Road and Moncure Lane to improve access management to the site.
The lot is one of the busiest and largest ridesharing locations for carpooling, vanpooling and transit in the Fredericksburg area, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
