Summer Shuttle Service Returns For Downtown Fredericksburg

Here's a cool way to tool around town sans your own set of wheels. It's the city's free summer shuttle service dubbed "Around the Town."

FREDERICKSBURG, VA—Here's a cool way to tool around town sans your own set of wheels. It's the city's free summer shuttle service dubbed "Around the Town." Billed as being for locals and tourists alike, the service will run from 5-9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights from May 31-Aug. 31.

It's a 15 to 20-minute loop of downtown, and the shuttle will have four stop/pick-up points:

  • Parking lot at Barton and William streets (#10 on parking map)
  • Hurkamp Park near the corner of William and Prince Edward streets (#8,9,7 on parking map)
  • Fredericksburg Visitor Center at 706 Caroline Street (#2,3,4,5,6 on parking map)
  • Near Carl's Ice Cream at 2200 Princess Anne Street

The shuttle, run by Trolley Tours of Fredericksburg, will stop near restaurants, public restrooms, coffee shops, art galleries, museums, parks and downtown shops. Too, it's easily accessible from the following downtown parking options.

  • The former Free Lance-Star parking lot at William and Barton streets
  • The downtown garage at Wolfe and Sophia streets
  • The VRE parking lot at Frederick and Caroline streets
  • The many surface lots along Sophia Street
  • The parking lot at the corner of Charles and Amelia streets

Look for the "Around the Town" trolley-stop signs.
