Talk Like a Pirate Day 2016: Free Doughnuts at Krispy Kreme
Aarrr! Pirates hungry for hot and fresh doughnuts can sail for Krispy Kreme on Monday, Sept. 19.

If you talk like a pirate every day of the year, good for you. Most of us dust off our "Arr" or "Ahoy Matey!" just once a year for International Talk Like a Pirate Day. And, more often than not, we're talking like a pirate for free food.
Talk Like a Pirate Day 2016 is Monday, Sept. 19. To celebrate, Krispy Kreme is rolling out its free doughnut offer, once again. Guests offering a hearty "ahoy" or other pirate phrases will earn a free original glazed doughnut.
Customers dressing like a pirate will be rewarded with real treasure — a free box of a dozen original glazed doughnuts. Pirate costumes must include three pirate items, such as an eye patch or bandanna.

If you don't have a fake parrot, don't worry. Krispy Kreme is offering a free dozen to customers who "dress" like a pirate via its Krispy Kreme Snapchat pirate filter. Show your Snapchat pic to an employee for your free box.
The Snapchat deal is a first for Krispy Kreme, according to Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “As this day is all about fun, we see it as a natural extension of our offers to get free Original Glazed doughnuts," Woodward said in a statement.

You can also purchase pirate-themed doughnuts: The Pirate Doughnut is a filled doughnut decorated with a pirate face, and the Skull and Crossbones Doughnut is topped with chocolate and white icing and a skull candy piece.
A limited number of Krispy Kreme locations aren't participating. Get more details at their website.
