STAFFORD, VA—Two teenage boys were arrested after robbing a 7-Eleven at gunpoint Monday morning, May 27, at 25 Solomon Drive, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. The boys, 16 and 15, are being held without bond at the Juvenile Detention Center.
Around 5:45 a.m., police responded to the scene for a reported armed robbery. Surveillance camera footage found that after two males entered the store, one pointed what turned out to be a fake gun at the clerk while the other held open a bag and motioned toward the cash register. The clerk opened the register, put an undisclosed amount of money in the bag, and then watched the boys run out of the store toward Melchers Drive.
Police, including a K-9 unit, searched the area. The dog led police to the back of a residence in the 100 block of Warrenton Road. Meanwhile, another officer identified one of the boys from the video and determined he lived near where the dog led officers.
