Coming in at No. 46 were ham biscuits, served up at University of Virginia games.
"In Charlottesville, Cavaliers tailgates often feature a Southern classic: Virginia country ham biscuits. Salty, thin-sliced ham is tucked into soft, buttery biscuits, sometimes paired with honey mustard or a touch of fig jam for balance," the survey authors wrote. "Served from baskets and trays at gatherings on The Lawn, they’re elegant yet unfussy, perfectly matching UVA’s historic charm."
Meanwhile, the smoked turkey legs at Virginia Tech ranked No. 61.
"In Blacksburg, Hokie fans embrace their mascot with a fitting tailgate specialty: smoked turkey legs. These hefty, smoky drumsticks are cooked until the meat practically falls off the bone, then carried around like edible trophies," the survey authors wrote. "Outside Lane Stadium, the sight of fans gnawing on turkey legs in maroon and orange is as common as the sound of 'Enter Sandman.' It’s hearty, playful and a perfect nod to Hokie identity."
