Thousands Without Power in North Stafford Monday

STAFFORD, VA — Strong winds and rain have knocked out power to 3,500 customers in North Stafford on Monday, according to Dominion Power.

Crews are still investigating the outages for an estimated time for restoration. Areas impacted include many communities between Garrisonville and Courthouse roads along Interstate 95, and a small are east of 95.

The heaviest winds and rains should end after noon, according to the National Weather Service.

The power company stresses among its safety tips: "If you feel a downed line presents clear and imminent danger to you, your property or to others, call 911 first!"
