FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A tractor-trailer that crashed on southbound I-95 near exit 126 on Friday morning will remain on the scene on the right shoulder until Sunday, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Two lanes were closed just before exit 126 to Spotsylvania and south of exit 130 to Route 3 in Fredericksburg on Friday due to the overturned tractor-trailer, according to a 7:36 a.m. social media post. The crash created a back up of 4 miles.

Although VDOT reported around 11:30 a.m. that all lanes had reopened, the right shoulder remained closed. Drivers were slowing up to view the tractor-trailer, causing unnecessary backups on southbound I-95.
