Two People Shot, One Fatally, In Stafford: UPDATE

STAFFORD, VA—A man was killed and a young woman critically injured Wednesday night, July 3, in a shooting outside a gas station at 1075 Garrisonville Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Troy Barnett Jr., of Stafford, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman, Laura Guadalupe Gomez-De La Cruz, 18 of Stafford, was taken to an area hospital.

A witness saw a dark sedan speeding away from the station's parking lot headed east on Garrisonville Road.

Police responded to the 5 Twelve Gas Station around 10:15 p.m. after a 911 caller reported two people had been shot in the parking lot. Police found the two people unresponsive with gunshot wounds to the upper body. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 540-658-4450.
