VA Governor Election 2021: How Fredericksburg Precincts Voted

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — While Republican Glenn Youngkin claimed victory in the Virginia governor's race, Fredericksburg precincts favored Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe, according to unofficial election results. Voting totals are available on the city and precinct levels.

Overall, there were 5,380 votes for McAuliffe, 3,494 votes for Youngkin and 113 votes for Liberation Party candidate Princess Blanding in Fredericksburg. That's with seven of eight precincts reporting.

Votes that would still need to be counted include any provisional ballots and absentee ballots postmarked by Tuesday and received by noon on Friday. Results will be certified by the state on Nov. 15.

All precincts in Fredericksburg favored McAuliffe, although some percentages were higher than others. The highest percentage for McAuliffe was 80.83 percent from mail-in absentee voting.

Mail-in and in-person voting accounted for a significant portion of Fredericksburg's vote totals.

The highest percentage from an Election Day precinct for McAuliffe was 71.31 percent at the New City Fellowship Church in Ward 4. Although Youngkin didn't win any Fredericksburg precincts, the highest percentage for the Republican candidate was 49.20 percent at Walker-Grant Middle School in Ward 3.

• Youngkin: 187 votes, 18.02 percent
• McAuliffe: 839 votes, 80.83 percent
• Blanding: 12 votes, 1.16 percent

• Youngkin: 993 votes, 38.90 percent
• McAuliffe: 1,535 votes, 60.13 percent
• Blanding: 22 votes, 0.86 percent

• Youngkin: 743 votes, 46.64 percent
• McAuliffe: 828 votes, 51.98 percent
• Blanding: 18 votes, 1.14 percent

201 - PRECINCT 1 - DISTRICT TWO (01)

• Youngkin: 560 votes, 41.67 percent
• McAuliffe: 750 votes, 55.80 percent
• Blanding: 28 votes, 2.08 percent

• Youngkin: 582 votes, 49.20 percent
• McAuliffe: 589 votes, 49.79 percent
