Viewfinder: Blue and Gray Honor War Dead

Memorial Day in Fredericksburg has a distinct Civil War flavor, right down to two different ceremonies commemorating Union and Confederate war dead at sites a stones throw from each other. Fredericksburg Patch was on hand to photograph the events as they happened.

Also, PBS Newshour was in the area, producing this video on the annual luminaria at the Fredericksburg National Cemetery. The video goes into the history and significance of the site and the practice of using luminaria.
