Viewfinder: Friends Gather, Remembering "Big Jim"

Friends, family and city officials recall James Adams as a friendly, generous and gentle man.

Earlier today, a crowd of about 20 people gathered to remember James Adams. Last Friday, around 7 p.m., . He was discovered dead around the intersection of Charles and Lafayette streets. 

Adams had recently become homeless, and among that community he was affectionately known as Big Jim. who in turn constructed a patchwork monument and organized a memorial service near the site of the accident. 

Today, friends from all walks of life, along with Jim's nephew, gathered to share memories from his life. Fredericksburg Patch was there and returned with this series of photographs. A full article on the event will run tomorrow morning.
