Virginia Weather Forecast: Clear, Cold Week Could End With Snow

STERLING, VA — We'll start the week off with some rain Monday morning, but the precipitation to keep an eye on will be next weekend — when we'll likely see some snow, according to the National Weather Service.

It's also going to be a cold week, with Monday bringing our highest temperatures at 49 degrees. The rain moves out by Monday afternoon, but clouds will be present throughout the week. Tuesday's high is 46 degrees, and we'll reach 40 degrees Wednesday.

Temperatures drop to the low 20s Wednesday night and high temperatures will stay in the 20s until the cold air moves out of the area Saturday afternoon. Overnight lows will be some of the coldest of the season, hitting 17 degrees Thursday night.

Friday night, we'll have a 50 percent chance of snow, and Saturday's forecast is a 60 percent chance of rain and snow.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 46. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 28.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 17.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 29.

Friday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Saturday: Rain and snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 43. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
