UPDATE: VRE Train Hits SUV; 2 Other Trains Now Moving

Update: Trains given go ahead as commute resumes late Tuesday morning.

STAFFORD, VA -- Virginia Railway Express is warning of significant delays Tuesday morning after a commuter train struck an SUV on the tracks in Stafford.

Trains were given the go ahead to move north. Trains 306 and 308 began moving after 8 a.m. They are the only two trains operating on the Fredericksburg line. Train 304 travelled to Quantico and off-loaded all passengers.

Commuters have been encouraged to use a different route to work. The Metro option has been opened for regular VRE riders on the Fredericksburg line.
