STAFFORD, VA—Two wanted brothers were arrested Monday with the help of a quick-thinking citizen outside the Wawa convenience store at 9 South Gateway Drive, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Kody Eli Banks, 26, of Stafford, was charged with obstruction of justice and served with a warrant for failure to appear on a driving suspended offense. Michael Lee Banks, 39, of Stafford, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving suspended, and served outstanding warrants for probation violation out of Stafford County and Caroline County. Both were held without bond.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., police spotted Kody Banks at Wawa and asked for his identification. When he refused and then tried to run, a citizen blocked his patch, allowing the officer to apprehend him. Meanwhile, police made contact with his brother, who also was at the Wawa. They found that he was wanted, and a search found he was holding a controlled substance.
