Warren Whistleman Indicted on 4 Counts Felony Child Abuse

Whistleman was serving as babysitter for four children age 18 months to six years when the abuse allegedly occurred. When an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

When a couple retrieved their four young children from a babysitter at 8 p.m. Friday, they noticed bruises on the youngest, a six-month-old, Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg Police spokesperson said.

"On April 13 police received information about an incident of child abuse that had reportedly occurred on the previous day in the 1100 block of Caroline Street," Bledsoe said. The investigation determined that four siblings between 18-months and 6-years-old were left in the care of a 56-year-old male who is a friend of the children’s mother and her husband," Bledsoe said.

"Warren Whistleman was arrested on charges of felony child abuse/neglect and misdemeanor assault and battery," Bledsoe said.
