Wawa Spat Leads To Bigger Problems For Couple In Stafford: SCSO

A simple argument outside a Wawa convenience store in Stafford wound up leading to more pressing matters for two people, says the SCSO.

STAFFORD, VA—A simple argument outside a Wawa convenience store at 275 Butler Road wound up leading to more pressing matters for two people late Monday night, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

Tashia Smith, 37, of Fredericksburg, was served an outstanding warrant out of Stafford for drug-related charges as well as being charged with public intoxication. Michael Watson, 40, of Fredericksburg, was charged with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Around 11:55 p.m., police responded to the store for a reported suspicious person. Upon arrival, they found a man and a woman arguing outside the business, and both smelled strongly of alcohol. When they ran Smith's information, the warrant was discovered. Meanwhile, surveillance footage showed Watson driving a vehicle into the store's parking lot at 11:54 p.m., leading to his drunk driving charge.
