Woman, 22, In Critical Condition After Shooting In Fredericksburg

Wednesday's shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence, according to investigators with the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 22-year-old woman remains in the hospital on Thursday after suffering multiple gunshot wounds in a shooting that took place Wednesday night in the Fredericksburg area.

Responding around 7:02 p.m for the report of a shooting in the 8100 block of Cherry Tree Drive, Spotsylvania Sheriff’s deputies found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds and began administering medical assistance, according to the incident report.

Spotsylvania Fire and Rescue took the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the sheriff’s office. As of Thursday afternoon, the woman remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
