• Fire crews battled window seal fire; no injuries reported (wset.com) — Galax firefighters helped Fries Fire and Rescue quickly contain a small window-seal fire at a two-story home, with no injuries and damage limited to one area. Crews traced the blaze to an ember from a nearby chimney and used a water can and overhaul to ensure all hotspots were out. Officials publicly thanked the Galax Fire Department for its timely assistance.
