5 Things for July 26: Delicious Pastries, D.C. United Stadium and the Castleton Festival
Local happenings you should know about for July 26.

Friday has finally made an appearance, and I'm sure you're as grateful to see it as I am. In NoVa, however, the local happenings keep rolling. Sleep in late on Saturday, but in the meantime, here's some information and events going on today.
- Get it in gear this morning and stop by Alexandria's new pastry cafe, Voila on North Kings Highway. Trust me. It's more than worth it.
- Enjoy music, theater and opera performances at the Castleton Festival.
- Retail secrets for artists. Learn techniques on how to display, show and sell your artwork to visitors in your studio at Lorton’s Workhouse Arts Center event in the McGuire Woods Gallery, W-16. The talk will be led by Mark Wilson, a Small Business Development Center retail and restaurant consultant. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Workhouse Arts Center is located off of I-95 on Route 123, at the corner of Ox and Lorton roads.
- Mongolian Mare. A statue of Sgt. Reckless will be dedicated at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Va., at 1 p.m. Sgt. Reckless was recognized as a national hero in 1954 for her service in the Korean War and went on to be awarded two Purple Hearts. She was a Mongolian mare that earned the rank of staff sergeant for transporting ammunition in battle, carrying wounded soldiers to safety and shielding them (injuries and all) from enemy fire.
- Score! Major League Soccer team D.C. United is queued up to get a shiny new $300 million stadium at Buzzard Point in Southwest, close to Nationals Park, home of the Washington Nationals baseball team. Do you think the proposed location at Half and Second streets just south of Potomac Avenue is where D.C. United should call home? Would you miss seeing them at RFK Stadium?
