UPDATE: Alexandria Potomac Little League Opening Rescheduled
Due to weather forecast, opening day is rescheduled for Saturday, April 16.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Alexandria Potomac Little League (APLL), starts their 13th season next Saturday, April 16, during its official Opening Day Ceremony, scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m., at Belle View Elementary School baseball diamond, 6701 Fort Hunt Road.
(An earlier date, Saturday, April 9, was changed due to the weather forecast.)
Opening Ceremonies this year will be held at the Belle View Elementary baseball diamond and will be followed by baseball games from coach-pitch divisions. Opening Ceremonies begin around 10:45. a.m. As in prior years, the APLL will hold a fundraising raffle at opening ceremonies. This year’s raffle items include an Easton Mako® baseball bat and tickets for four to a Washington Nationals game.
Games
Although Opening Ceremonies have been moved a week, the start of the season will not be delayed. Games for minors and majors divisions’ teams begin mid-week next week. Coach-pitch and tee-ball divisions’ games will begin Saturday, April 16.

All those planning on attending APLL's Opening Day Ceremony are asked to arrive as early as possible, as parking will be extremely limited towards the beginning of the ceremony. Almost 400 players, coaches and parents are expected in attendance, along with invited politicians and dignitaries, to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of the league's 2015 season.

Alexandria Potomac Little League, formerly known as Bucknell Little League for its first 53 seasons, from 1951 to 2003, changed their name and began play as a "new" Little League in 2004. Brian Miller, is in his second year as league president, was preceded in title by Michele Burgess (2014), Martin Long (2012 & 2013), Warren Payne (2010 and 2011), Michael Aitken (2008 and 2009), Paul Delaney (2006 and 2007) and Pat Malone (2004 and 2005). Pat Malone was also the last president of Bucknell Little League, in 2003, before the league changed its name to Alexandria Potomac.
With 65 years of history, Alexandria Potomac Little League is the oldest member of Little League's Virginia District 9, which includes, Fort Hunt Little League, Central Springfield Little League, West Springfield Little League, Woodlawn Little League, Fort Belvoir Little League, South County Little League, Dale City Little League, Woodbridge Little League and Dumfries/Triangle/Quantico (DTQ) Little League.
