COVID Vaccine Clinics Canceled At 2 Fairfax Schools Tuesday
Two COVID-19 vaccine clinics for ages 5 to 11 are canceled due to winter weather impacts, but more are scheduled in the coming days.

GROVETON, VA — Two COVID-19 vaccine clinics scheduled for Tuesday afternoon are canceled due to continued impacts of Monday's winter storm.
Schools and all activities on school grounds are closed Monday and Tuesday due to the winter weather. Cancellations include Tuesday's vaccine clinics for ages 5 to 11 at Graham Road Elementary and Groveton Elementary, according to the Fairfax County Health Department.

The school-based vaccination clinics offer the vaccine for children ages 5 to 11. Children do not need to be a student at the school or FCPS to attend. Appointments are not required, but children should be accompanied by an adult. Health insurance is not required, but anyone who has an insurance card should bring a copy. Because the dosage is different from the one given to ages 12 and older, vaccines are not available for ages 12 and older.
In related news, the FDA has authorized COVID-19 boosters for ages 12 to 15. However, the Fairfax County Health Department awaits guidance from the CDC and Virginia Department of Health before it can offer boosters to this age group. Boosters are available to ages 16 and older.
