Mount Vernon Hospital Leader Named A Modern Healthcare Emerging Leader
Roberta Tinch, who leads Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, was recognized as a young rising leader in the health care industry.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — Inova Mount Vernon Hospital's leader has been recognized as a rising young star in the health care industry by Modern Healthcare.
Roberta Tinch, president of the Mount Vernon hospital, is part of Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Emerging Leaders for 2023.
Modern Healthcare, a print and online magazine for health care news, recognized health care leaders aged 40 and under who bring innovation to their workplace.

"At a time of great change for the healthcare industry, this year’s class of emerging leaders demonstrate many of the skills that will be required to move organizations forward and improve patients’ lives," said Mary Ellen Podmolik, the editor-in-chief of Modern Healthcare. "These professionals are true collaborators, working internally with teams to improve workplace culture and efficiency. They also are looking beyond their own doors to better serve their communities."
Tinch is credited with expanding the hospital's acute behavioral health program capacity, investing over $1 million in minimally invasive surgical systems and transitioning its clinical care model to a 100 percent hospitalist program. Tinch also serves as vice president and administrator of the Inova Musculoskeletal Service Line, working on quality and patient experience at 26 care locations.

Tinch has over a decade of experience in leading hospital operations. Before joining Inova, she was the chief operating officer at Richmond's HCA Johnston-Willis Hospital and HCA Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Spotsylvania County as well as associate chief operating officer at HCA Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, Florida.
