Mount Vernon Town Meeting 2024: Taste Of Mount Vernon, More

MOUNT VERNON, VA — An update on Mount Vernon District happenings and the returning Taste of Mount Vernon will be part of Supervisor Dan Storck's upcoming Mount Vernon Town Meeting on Saturday, Feb. 10. The meeting will be held at Mount Vernon High School.

This is the 37th annual Mount Vernon Town Meeting, started by former Supervisor Gerry Hyland in 1988 when he was elected. The tradition continues with Storck, the current Mount Vernon District supervisor. Storck has served in the position since his election in 2015 and won re-election in 2023.

The Town Meeting will begin at 7:45 a.m. on Feb. 10 with an exhibit hall of county and community service providers, including a KidBiz Young Entrepreneurs Expo. A program will follow at 9:30 a.m. with guest speakers, Q&A with officials and a virtual tour of the Mount Vernon District to discuss current news. Afterward, sample food from local restaurants at the Taste of Mount Vernon from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Fairfax County Health Department will be offering flu vaccines on site.

For those who do not attend in person, the meeting will be streamed virtually on Fairfax County's Channel 16 as well as Supervisor Dan Stock's Facebook page. Residents may ask questions during the Q&A sessions by emailing mtvernon@fairfaxcounty.gov, commenting on Facebook or tweeting @DanStorck.
