Friday, Dec. 30: Move It!
Free Art of Movement Classes: You’re invited to participate in the Art of Movement’s free holiday classes. Try your hand at exciting, challenging classes like Body Blade from 9 to 9:45 a.m. or Row Fit from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. in the W11 Building at the Workhouse Arts Center. More classes on Saturday; check out the schedule (Pilates classes require appointment). Free; no registration required for non-Pilates classes. Flying Squirrels – Gliding in Tonight:Join the naturalist calling in these amazing gliders of the night and look for flying squirrels at roosting boxes. Learn how you can encourage flying squirrels to visit your yard. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Hidden Oaks Nature Center. Ages 4 and up. Saturday, Dec. 31: Laugh in the New Year!
Cool Comedy Presents Tony Deyo: A comedian known for his sharp, quick material and near-perfect comedic timing, almost certainly gained from his years as a professional symphony musician. The Fairfax County Park Authority is joining with America’s State Parks and Virginia State Parks First Day Hike Programs to get you outside and on the trail. First Hike Fairfax kicks off the Park Authority’s Take 12! Steps for Family Health for 2017, a year of healthy living ideas for you and your family. It’s easy. It’s fun. Here is information on five self-guided starter hikes at some really great Fairfax County parks. And when we say hikes, we mean walking, jogging, biking, horseback riding, scenery strolling... it’s all good. Grab a friend or family members and hike together.
