ALEXANDRIA, VA — A business in Fairfax County's Richmond Highway corridor is moving to Alexandria's King Street due to the Richmond Highway widening project.

Zen Press, a woman-owned and Asian-owned juice bar and cafe, had opened in 2022 at 8120 Richmond Highway, Alexandria VA. But the Richmond Highway widening project prompted the business to move to 806 King Street, Alexandria, VA. The new location will open Monday, March 13.

Right-of-way acquisitions are underway to make way for a widened Richmond Highway. The Virginia Department of Transportation's project calls for widening a section of the corridor's main roadway from four to six lanes. The first phase will widen Richmond Highway between Jeff Todd Way and Frye Road, and the second phase will be between Frye Road and Sherwood Hall Lane.
