2 Dead In Fiery Herndon Crash, Police Investigating

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the victims in a deadly crash in Herndon over the weekend.

HERNDON, VA -- Police are conducting an investigation after a fiery crash in Herndon last weekend killed two people and left their remains unrecognizable.

Police responded to a crash at around 4:26 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 on southbound Route 28 near the McLearen Road exit, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

Police believe a newer model gray Honda CRV was driving at "an excessive speed" and left the roadway to the right, striking a utility pole.

The crash killed both men in the vehicle. "Due to extensive fire damage, both of the victims remain unidentified," the report states.

Police are asking for help identifying the men. They believe both men were light-skinned and under the age of 25, and the driver has a unique tattoo centered across his entire chest of a large eagle with its wings spread, holding a trophy in its talons. Additionally, the driver was wearing a gold chain, as seen below:

"Due to the complex nature of the investigation, detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information to call 703-280-0564," the report adds.
