62-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle
The pedestrian reportedly crossed the street despite the 'Do Not Walk' sign.

A Herndon resident is in the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening.
According to Lt. Jim Moore, at approximately 10:24 p.m. Tuesday, Herndon officers responded to the intersection of Van Buren Street and Elden Street on report of an accident involving a car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 62-year-old Herndon resident, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, including multiple broken bones.
Moore said, "Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling westbound on Elden Street when the pedestrian entered the crosswalk against a 'Do Not Walk' light."

Moore added, no charges have been filed at this time.
