HERNDON, VA — A Herndon man was arrested after police say he used a cinder block to smash a window in the rear of a local business and then steal cash from the register.

Police were called to the 1100 block of Elden Street at around 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 7 to a commercial burglary alarm, according to a report from the Herndon Police Department.

"Video shows one suspect that presumably gained entry through a plexiglass window in the rear of the business that was broken using a cinder block," the report states. "The suspect took an undisclosed amount [of] cash from the register and 2 packs of Marlboro Gold 72 cigarettes."

Police identified the suspect in the video as 27-year-old Wilson Manuel Navarro Escobar, and arrested him the next day on charges of burglary, possession of burglarious tools, petit larceny, destruction of property, and false identification to law enforcement, the report states.

He is being held without bond.
