HERNDON, VA — A man awoken by his barking dog early Saturday morning, discovered that a burglary had taken place at his home in the Town of Herndon, according to police.

During a search of his home in the 1400 block of Winterberry Court, the man discovered that someone had entered his car and garage stole various pieces of property.

Town of Herndon Police are investigating the incident, according to the weekly crime report.

Herndon Police issued 95 traffic summonses between Jan. 1 and Jan. 7, including five for DWI/driving while intoxicated, 11 for having no operators license, three for driving on a suspended/revoked license, and two for operating a vehicle while holding a phone.

There were seven reportable traffic crashes during the week, with a reportable crash being described as an accident resulting in at least $1,500 in damage.
