Here are the top three stories in Herndon today:
- On Wednesday, Mar. 8, Dranesville Elementary School will host a meeting to discuss to the new building renovations coming this year. The meeting will take place at the school cafeteria from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Public feedback will be encouraged and shared with the Fairfax County Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors, School Board, and FCPS staff regarding the community's view of the project and overall design concept. - There are five new properties available for sale in and around the Herndon area. The latest listings to hit the housing market include a one-bedroom, one-bathroom home for $289,900 and a five-bedroom, three-bathroom home for $724,990. (Herndon Patch)
- The Fairfax County Police Department released the two identities of the two officers involved in the deadly officer shooting outside of Tysons Corner Center last Wednesday up the road in Tysons. The officers identified were Sergeant Wesley Shifflett, a 7-year department veteran, and Police Officer First Class James Sadler, an 8-year department veteran. According to officials, both officers discharged their weapons during the incident, killing 37-year-old Timothy McCree Johnson. (ABC 7News)
