Dulles Day Plane Pull, 5K/10K Run on Saturday
Dulles Airport's activities on September 19 will benefit Special Olympics Virginia.
On September 19th, Washington Dulles International Airport is hosting the Dulles Day Plane Pull and Family Festival, which will include activities through out the day for families. The event, which will donate funds to Special Olympics Virginia, is free and open to the public from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The event will begin with a 5K/10K Run on the Runway for registered participants. About 2,500 registered runners will begin and end the run behind the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center, located on Dulles property off Route 28 via the Air & Space Museum Parkway exit.
The Plane Pull will double the fun this year with the addition of a second plane to pull. The planes will be parked side-by-side and more than 70 pre-registered teams will compete to be the fastest at pulling a full-size 12 feet jet aircraft in the shortest time.

For those that are travelling, the airport would like passengers to keep left to avoid traffic. The Silver Line Express bus will also operate on regular schedule and charge $5.00 per passenger one way.
