WASHINGTON, D.C. — On March 5, 2022, Hashtag Gaming Arena will celebrate the grand opening of its flagship gaming community event center, offering nearly eight thousand square feet for gamers and gaming enthusiasts of all kinds to call home. The first-of-its-kind facility in Franklin Farm Village Center is not only the largest board game and collectibles retailer in the mid-Atlantic with comfortable seating for recurring competitive, and casual gaming events, but also meets the market need for an inclusive, diverse, and spacious community event environment. In collaboration with MSI, Hashtag’s sole Founder’s Guild sponsor, the grand opening will feature giveaways, door prizes, contests and more to celebrate the gaming community. The Grand Opening will also feature the facility's first Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament starting at 5pm, produced by and featuring WaDi!

As a facility built by gamers, for gamers, Hashtag will host events for iconic tabletop games such as Magic The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. Hashtag also features a dedicated eSports event and play space where it will host, create, organize, produce, and broadcast competitive video game events like Beltway Battles and the Hashtag Cup. Local and international gamers alike will have their chance to do battle on Hashtag’s main stage, with seating for over one hundred attendees and a dozen viewing screens for audience members to watch the live action.

In addition to tabletop games and eSports, Hashtag will also offer game education programming for people of all ages to learn the ins and outs of gaming and eSports in a friendly, safe and encouraging environment.

Hashtag opened the doors of its first gaming facility in Chantilly, VA in February of 2019 and secured its foothold in the community through dynamic gaming and media events. While Hashtag closed its doors for nearly five months due to COVID-19, with support of Economic Injury Disaster Loans, Hashtag reopened and has consistently grown while meeting a collective need for community, connection and camaraderie in the face of the ongoing pandemic.
