Even More Herndon Cat Lovers Celebrate International Cat Day

Here's the second batch of cat photos submitted by Reston residents in honor of International Cat Day.

HERNDON, VA — Stop, stop! No more! We get it. Herndon loves cats.

Last week, Patch put out a call on social media asking for Herndon cat owners to share photos of their favorite felines to celebrate International Cat Day on Sunday.

And boy did they respond.

Patch was so overwhelmed with the number of photos that we received we decided to post two photo galleries, one on Friday and the other on Monday. Below you will find the latest batch of cat photos from Herndon.

One last thing for dog owners — Patch has not forgotten about you. International Dog Day is Thursday, Aug. 26. Keep an eye on Facebook and Neighbor posts for an announcement of when we'll be accepting photos of your canine companions.

This is Herbert (goes by Herbie) and he just turned 5 yesterday! I adopted him in 2016 as a tiny kitten and he’s become such a friend and companion! He has a very extraverted personality, so he always hangs out with people his other passion is reading, as you can see in this photo. This is Smokey he adopted me and my husband here in Herndon. Last fall in September off 2020 he showed up at my back yard skinny and very young, he never won’t let us pet him never wanted to como inside the house he also never meow so we let him stay in our garage and he is free to come and go when ever he wants.
