4 Charged For Possession Of Fentanyl, Other Narcotics Seized By Herndon Police

Town of Herndon Police made two sets of arrests that removed fentanyl pills and other narcotics from the community.

HERNDON, VA — Four suspects arrested in two separate incidents are facing multiple drug charges, according to Town of Herndon Police. In one incident, the arrest followed a traffic stop and the other concerned two people seen sleeping on a picnic table.

On Friday, July 24, officers observed an SUV abruptly crossing multiple lanes of traffic without signaling in the 1100 block of Sterling Road. Making a traffic stop, police discovered 57 suspected fentanyl pills and more than 15 grams of suspected dimethylpentylone in the SUV. Police also found materials used to package and sell the drugs and nearly $2,000 in cash.

The driver, identified as 23-year-old Deontay Compton of Sterling, was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I/II, carrying a concealed weapon, possession with intent to Distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm while in possession of Schedule I/II narcotics, and obstruction of justice, according to police.

A passenger in the SUV, identified as 22-year-old Noor Saher of Sterling, was also arrested and taken to the adult detention center, where he was charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I/II, disorderly conduct, and obstruction of justice, according to police.

Compton was held without bond and Sahler was held on a $2,000 secured bond, according to police.

The second pair of drug-related arrests occurred last Saturday, around 10:30 p.m., when officers observed two men sleeping on a picnic bench. Noticing that the neither of the men had moved for several minutes, the officers went to check on their condition. Police say that when the two woke up, they appeared to be under the influence and in possession of fentanyl and other narcotics.

Police arrested 26-year-old Anthony Lansdown and 20-year-old Kelvin Raul Martinez Yates. The two Herndon residents were taken to the adult detention center and charged.

Police charged Lansdown with two counts of felony drug possession, misdemeanor drug possession, weapons charges, and drunkenness. Yates was also charged with felony drug possession and drunkenness, according to police.

While Lansdown was held without bond, Yates was given a $1,000 bond, according to police.
