Herndon Festival Recognized Internationally for On Site Decor
Herndon Festival was nominated and awarded the Bronze Award from IFEA for decor.

The International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) has selected Herndon Festival’s wind art display for a Silver award in the Best Miscellaneous On-site Décor Category with a budget $250,000 to $750,000.
This professional competition draws entries from among the world’s top festivals and events. Awards were handed out in 68 different categories.

In the same category, Summer in Paradise in West Palm Beach, Florida was given the Gold and Bronze Award.
Herndon Festival is known as one of the largest free event in Northern Virginia, is a four-day festival, seeking entertainment, a carnival, fireworks displays, children’s hands-on art area, arts & crafts show, a business expo, 10K/5K races & fitness expo, a free shuttle bus service, and an assortment of food vendors.

“The IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards Competition recognizes the outstanding accomplishments and top quality creative, promotional, operational and community outreach programs and materials produced by festivals and events around the world.” said IFEA President & CEO, Steven Wood Schmader, CFEE in a release.
“It is outstanding the Herndon Festival has received this international award. We want to recognize and thank our local volunteer group, Decorate the Wind, who designed and set-up the Wind Art display.” added Cindy Roeder, director, Herndon Parks and Recreation Department.
