Herndon Parking Garage To Be Shut Down For Months: County
A Herndon parking garage will be closed for months as part of work on the Metro Silver Line expansion.

HERNDON, VA -- If you use the Herndon-Monroe Park and Ride facility, you're going to experience some disruption for the next few months.
Fairfax County announced recently that, effective April 8, "the existing parking garage will close for a period of months in order to make necessary improvements," and all parking will be relocated to the first three levels of the new garage, the county said in a statement.
"Work continues on the Herndon-Monroe Park and Ride facilities in preparation for the new Herndon Metrorail Station and the arrival of Silver Line Phase 2 service," the statement reads. "With construction of the new garage nearing completion, work now begins on the existing parking garage."
