Herndon Parking Garage Shutdown Begins Monday
The Herndon-Monroe parking garage will be shuttered for months as improvements are made.

HERNDON, VA -- If parking in the Herndon-Monroe parking garage is your daily routine, your going to have to change that routine starting Monday.
The garage will be closed for months as improvements are made to it, meaning all parking will be relocated to Levels 1-3 at the new garage.
"Work continues on the Herndon-Monroe Park and Ride facilities in preparation for the new Herndon Metrorail Station and the arrival of Silver Line Phase 2 service," reads a Fairfax County statement. "With construction of the new garage nearing completion, work now begins on the existing parking garage."

As a result of the relocation, there will be new pickup and drop-off locations for ridesharing, which will be temporarily relocated to Level 1 of the new garage.
There will also be other changes, including a temporary detour.

"Please note- there will be no direct access between the Herndon Monroe facility and the Dulles Toll Road," the statement reads. "All vehicles entering and exiting the facility must use Sunrise Valley Drive via Fairfax County Parkway. Access to eastbound Dulles Toll Road from the facility will resume in late April when the renovation of the toll booth at this location is complete."
