HERNDON, VA -- A Herndon woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man last week.

Police arrested 29-year-old Stephanie Fyfe on Tuesday on a charge of murder, according to a report from the Herndon Police Department.

Police responded to the 600 block of Clearwater Court to a report of an unresponsive man with a stab wound to his chest at around 1 a.m. on April 5, the report states.

They transported 45-year-old David Puryear of Clinton, Md. to Reston Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police believe the victim and suspect knew each other.
