Deltek, Inc., an accounting software provider for government contractors, announced Wednesday that it has acquired Axium, a Portland, Oregon-based accounting and project management solutions provider.
The company intends to "extend its market leadership in the architecture and engineering industry," according to a press release. Deltek has made several acquisitions since it was bought by Thoma Bravo for $1.1 billion in October 2012. Details of the acquisition price were not disclosed.
The combined business will deliver enterprise resource planning solutions to more than 12,000 customers in architecture and engineering (A&E) firms around the world. Deltek employs more than 600 people in the Herndon area.

“No other software provider in the world today has the A&E expertise, revolutionary project based capabilities and customer list that the combined organization can offer,” said Dan Mayleben, CFO and COO of Axium in a statement.
Founded in 1983, Deltek, short for deLaski Technologies, competes internationally with enterprise software developers like Oracle Corp. and CA Technologies, Inc.
