New Grocery Store Opens In Herndon: Report
A new grocery store reportedly opened Wednesday on Elden Street.
HERNDON, VA — The town of Herndon has a new grocery store.
The Washington Business Journal reports that Sprout Farmers Market Inc. opened its first D.C.-area store at 494 Elden Street on Wednesday.
The chain has several locations around Baltimore but none in the metropolitan D.C. area -- until now.

This new Sprouts store spans 31,000 square feet and is in the space formerly occupied by Kmart, according to the report.
Sprouts opened its first store in 2002 and currently has more than 320 stores nationwide.

The chain says it eschews common unhealthy grocery store items in favor of fresh and healthy selections.
"People thought we were crazy when we wouldn’t sell the country’s top-selling sodas, snacks and candy," their website states. "But we believed that eating clean and living healthy was more than just a trend."
