New York Times Bestselling Author Coming To Herndon
A New York Times bestselling author will be making an appearance in Herndon soon.
HERNDON, VA — New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci will be visiting Herndon next week to promote his new book, A Minute to Midnight.
The event will be held at the Herndon Middle School Auditorium at 901 Locust Street, and Reston Regional Library and Bards Alley bookstore are the hosts. It will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Baldacci — who hails from Richmond, practiced law for nine years in D.C., and lives in Fairfax County — had his first big break as a novelist in 1996 with Absolute Power, an international bestseller that was turned into a feature film starring Clint Eastwood. He has published 40 best-selling novels for adults, and several for youths. He has sold more than 130 million novels worldwide.

"[T]he Feeding Body & Mind initiative seeks to address the connection between literacy, poverty and hunger," reads the announcement on the Fairfax County website. "Through this initiative, more than 1 million new and gently used books have been collected and distributed through food banks to families in need."
Visitors can put new or gently used books in the big white Feeding Body & Mind donation box that will be at the event.
A Minute to Midnight is the next book in Baldacci's series with FBI Special Agent Atlee Pine, who "oversteps the mark on the arrest of a dangerous criminal [and is] given a leave of absence offering the perfect opportunity to return to where it all began, and find some answers."
