Here are the top three stories today in Herndon:
- Police are continuing to investigate Friday's shooting and stabbing attack that left two people dead on Stable Brook Way in Herndon. As of Monday, Fairfax County Police confirmed that they are still processing the crime scene and are working to figure out who stabbed victim Christine Banfield and who shot the other victim, Joseph Ryan. Police chief Kevin Davis said, "We're gonna be here as long as it takes for us to thoroughly investigate and gather evidence." (DC News Now)
- The Dulles International Airport down the road is getting another $20 million in federal funding for its new 14-gate concourse. The additional funding comes from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and is in addition to the $49.6 million already received for the project. (Loudoun Now)
- Herndon-based business Mammoth Office Furniture recently redecorated the offices of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce at Old Town Hall. Chamber president and CEO Melissa McKenna said, "Given the Herndon-based origins of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce, it is wonderful to have this office refresh in Old Town Hall." The furniture dealer was founded in Herndon in 1999. (Herndon Patch)
