HERNDON, VA — Fairfax County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening in the vicinity of Hutchison Park.

Around 6:32. p.m., officers responded for the report of a person being shot in the 13000 block of Parcher Ave. They found a 21-year-old man on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body, according to police. The officers rendered aide until emergency medial personal arrived. The man was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe that a fight broke out near where the man was found. During the altercation, a suspect shot the victim in the lower body, according to FCPD. No other details were available.
