Taste-Test Healthy Foods For the Family, Take the Kids to A Free Show by 'Rocknoceros,' and More

Want to learn more about how your family can start eating more healthy and organic foods? The MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) Club of Herndon’s monthly meeting takes place this Thursday, Aug. 15, 10-11:30 a.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and will focus on healthy eating. Organizers say, come enjoy a taste-testing of healthy snacks and pick up some wholesome meal ideas your family can enjoy. This open discussion will feature tips and tricks from seasoned moms on getting your kids to eat healthy and delicious foods.” All Herndon moms (zip codes 20170 and 20171) are welcome at this free event. Get informed before the next election! This Wednesday, Aug. 14, come to a meet-and-greet with Jennifer Boysko, the Democratic candidate running for Virginia Delegate to the 86th District, which covers Herndon. Boysko will face current Delegate Tom Rust in the November election. Farmers Market Fun Days continue this Thursday morning with a performance by Rocknoceros, known as “Herndon’s favorite power trio.” The Herndon farmers market takes place each Thursday morning at the corner of Elden and Station streets, by the W&OD caboose, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fun Days shows are free and take place on the Town Green at the market from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. For more information, visit the Town’s website.

Congregation Beth Emeth in Herndon has a new rabbi! So, mark your calendars for a community barbecue and Shabbat services under the stars and meet the new rabbi, Michelle Goldsmith.
