1. Don’t miss the Herndon Town Calendar photography exhibit, currently on display at ArtSpace Herndon, 750 Center St. Out of all the entries sent in during this year’s competition, the finalists have been selected to appear in the 2014 calendar. And, this Saturday is the gala reception, from 7-9 p.m. Mingle, view the exhibit, and hear the announcement of which photo will be featured with each month of the calendar, as well as the winner of the People’s Choice award – which you can vote for if you stop by and vote before the reception. For more information, visit ArtSpace Herndon’s website.
2. Help underprivileged students from Hutchison Elementary in Herndon get a leg-up for school in the fall through Corporate America Family Credit Union’s school supply drive, called “Project Backpack.” School supplies or monies collected for Project Backpack can be dropped off at Corporate America Family Credit Union’s branch, located at 13075 Worldgate Dr., through Aug. 16. For more details, visit www.cafcu.org/backpack or call 1-800-359-1939.
