Townwide Fall Cleanup, Oct. 6-10

The annual fall clean-up takes place Oct. 6-10, providing residents an opportunity to place large/bulky items for curbside pick-up.

WHAT: Annual fall clean-up, curbside collection of large items throughout the Town of Herndon’s residential areas

WHEN: Monday, Oct. 6 through Friday, Oct. 10. Pickup is on normal trash day only. Items are to be placed at the curb by 7 a.m., for pickup, but no earlier than 24 hours prior to collection.

DETAILS: Examples of what WILL be picked up during the fall clean-up:

  • Appliances (remove doors)
  • Furniture
  • Vehicle parts and plumbing fixtures (all under 50 pounds)
  • Tires (maximum 2 per household)
  • Limited amount of building materials (approximately one cubic yard, lengths not to exceed four feet)

Examples of what WILL NOT be picked up during the fall clean-up:

  • Loose yard waste
  • Auto parts in excess of 50 pounds
  • Large quantities of building waste
  • Household hazardous waste
